Worship
Our worship is broadly traditional, with an emphasis on preaching, but with freedom to use contemporary music and other forms of communication. Through our varied Sunday services, Godalming United Church offers a variety of ways to worship:

 9:00am

Holy Communion
(First Sunday in each month)

10:30am

Morning Worship

The style of this service varies from week to week (from relaxed family worship to Holy Communion, which is celebrated on the third Sunday in each month). There
is a creche for under threes. The children and young people have Weysiders (formerly Junior Church).

6:30pm

Circuit Prayer Service (venue as announced)

(Second Sunday in each month)

6:30pm

Holy Communion

(Fourth Sunday in each month)

No set liturgy is adhered to. Communion as part of the main morning service tends to alternate between being taken in the pews or at the rail.
Hymns and songs are generally taken from the Methodist hymn book, Hymns and Psalms, or our own song book, Godalming United Praise.
Coffee, tea and squash are served after morning service every Sunday.
All morning services are recorded onto CDs that can be borrowed if someone misses a service.

Music
Music plays an important part in our worship, and is led by one of the organists and the choir which meet each week to prepare music (old and new) for the Sunday Services (hymns, introits, anthems and blessings) and any special events such as weddings and special services. From time to time a longer work is performed with an augmented choir and soloists. Through its music the choir aims to enhance and contribute to the worship of the church.
There is also a small music group, Candela, which takes part in the services, leading singing of modern worship songs. Candela play and sing often as part of the main morning service, usually on the second Sunday of the month.
Music Kids, which meet on a Friday evening, also regularly contribute to worship.
